I am so proud to announce the launch of our new website, Rad Strings of Hawaii ! Based out of Kihei, Maui (represent!) Rad Strings are the Exclusive Dealers in All of Hawaii for the Strings by Aurora brand colored ukulele strings (colored guitar strings may also be ordered through us as well). Our company, Rad Strings of Hawaii, was born from an idea our eldest son Cyrus had one day… Cyrus, only 11 years old, really enjoys playing ukulele with his friends at school and for us at home. His first ukulele was a Lyon brand uke from Costco given to him 3 years ago as a Christmas gift from his Papa Fernando and Grandma Esther. Since receiving the uke, he has been constantly striving to learn new songs and try out new chords in attempts to put custom melodies together. He has also inspired his sister, Camryn, to play as well. One day afterschool Cyrus asked his dad, “Wouldn’t it be cool to have Red, Yellow and Green strings on my uke Dad?”. And Rad thought "WOW, what a great idea!" After mentioning it to me, I immediately did research. We found a couple companies who made colored uke strings, however, they were "toy like" and the sounds were not what we were looking for. We finally found a reputable company based out of Bridgeport Connecticut, Strings by Aurora, and have been diligently working with them to bring the people of Hawaii quality colored ukulele strings. For children and adults alike who cherish playing the ukulele, our colored uke strings bring a sense of custom playing style and vivid sound to their instrument.
